Kaumatua is a project started by MilanoAltruista to help adults to share their knowledge and experience with the younger generations. Kaumatua aims to introduce a new intergenerational cooperation and solidarity system outside family and friends. We give mature adults immediate opportunities with high social impact to help the younger generation. We help schools, organizations and the youngest to access to a network of mature adults who want to give back to the community and have a positive impact on society.

Kaumatua are respected tribal elders in Maori (indigenous Polynesian people of New Zealand) tribes; they have the duty to teach and guide young generations and transfer to them the ‘mana’, the spiritual life force energy or spiritual power that permeates the universe. Kaumatua are pillars of the community, because they create the bridge between the past and the future ensuring that the past knowledge will not be forgotten.
